HELP! My first dermatologist visit?

Im suffering from severe acne and acne scars. Its the worst! Ive tried everything! Ive tried a whole bunch of products and none of them have worked. Ive even tried most of the home remedies that are out there. Im really fed up with my skin and i have just decided to have my mom make an appointment for me for the dermatologist. Now, i have some questions.


1. What can i expect on my first visit? What will they do and if there are forms for me to fill out, what questions will they ask on the forms that i have to answer?


2. Does the dermatologist REALLY help get rid of acne/ance scars??


3. Will the dermatologist prescribe products that are out there in the stores such as Nuetrogena or Clean and Clear products or will they prescribe things that they dont sell at the stores such as certain meds and cleansers/creams?


4. Will the dermatologist set up a skin routine for you or will they just give you a product?


5. how often do you have to return to the dermatologist for another visit?


I would really appriciate if you guys could answer these questions for me and plz tell me about any other things that i need to know or will expect from the dermatologist. When I went I had to fill out a little form thingy with my dob, where i live ect.

sometimes, do not relie your life on the products he or she gives you.

a little bit of both :)


4. Will the dermatologist set up a skin routine for you or will they just give you a product?


it depends sometimes they just give you a cream to put on your acne and you continue washing your face with your normal cleanser and sometimes they will give you a whole new routine.


5. how often do you have to return to the dermatologist for another visit?


It doesn%26#039;t matter how many times you want but the usual is every 3 months :)
