What is the difference between a Cosmetic dermatologist and a regular dermatologist?

I am thinking of becoming a dermatologist (I%26#039;m only in 8th grade though so, I have some time before I choose a career :P). Do cosmetic dermatologists and regular dermatologists make the same amount of money?|||Well, since you have more than 15 years to get to this point it is hard to predict what will be in medicine at that point. Cosmetic dermatologists may or may NOT get reimbursed by insurance companies--most do not cover elective things like this; so its a cash type business %26amp; so your income depends on a number of market forces, billings, malpractice, and office expense. Also, there is very stiff competition in this field from just about anyone with a medical or RN license; so very hard to predict. Usually they do surface type procedures (juvederm, restylane, botox, IPL, laser, peels, that sorta stuff)--no surgical procedures (other than simple office type ones). I would not obsess too much as you will probably make this decision in med school. Best.|||whats a dermatologist??!!
