Ive asked this question in the skin conditions section but NOBODY answered so please girls answer.
Ive have really bad acne on my back, chest, and face, so my doctor has reffered me to a dermatologist.
When you go to the dermatologist what do they do?
Do you have to remove your clothes?|||They will want to look at the acne to see where it is and what kind it is. So you will probably have to take off your shirt. The doctor I went to said it was %26quot;body acne%26quot; and gave me a prescription for Accutane. But there is so much that can go wrong while taking it, if you get pregnant you have to have an abortion, that I quit taking it. Make sure you ask a lot of questions before accepting the doctors prescription.
Edit:
Yes you will have to be on birth control if you take the Accutane. And if I remember correctly you have to take a pregnancy test once a month. The good part about the pills is they did actually work. But my doctor, the one who prescribed the Accutane, told me of the depression warnings and also told me that the two young men who killed all those kids at Columbine High School took Accutane. I would exhaust every other possibility before trying the Accutane.|||I had back acne really bad and I went to the dermatologist. I didn%26#039;t have to removed my clothes, but I think I remember him lifting up my shirt in the back to look at it. But you shouldn%26#039;t have to remove your clothes, especially for your chest acne. If you have acne in other places the doctor should be able to diagnose the problem by looking at those other areas.
And I know this is off the question a little, but just wanting to let you know what you might expect, first they gave me a wash and a cream and it didn%26#039;t work so then they gave me Accutane. If they give you Accutane be careful because it has a lot of very bad side effects. It made my nose bleed everyday I was on it and it causes very bad depression. I know it seems that anything seems better as long as the acne goes away but that depression was much worse.
And even though Accutane worked for a few years the acne came back, on my back and face. It%26#039;s been six years since I stopped taking it and I still have acne. But i wish you luck and hope things work out.|||Well you will probably have to remove your top and bra, and then put a gown on to cover your self for most of the exam, and I say this because of the skin condition is on your back and chest... if removing your clothes is hard for you, ask to have a female doctor. and do things to try to relax|||no need of removing clothes you are having on face also so you can tell him that the same problem on other areas but i think there is no need of getting panick of showing , after all he is going to treat you.|||dermatologists specialise in skin care and achne they will look at ur skin ask questions about ur diet ect and prescribe u something to get rid of achne!!!Dont worry
