While I was not very successful finding an African American Dermatologist in Louisville I did come upon a link with the NMA that lists Dr Gaines as the president of the local chapter. Perhaps a phone call or email to her office would point you in the right direction.
I too am looking for a dermatologist that specializes in black skin care.
Anyone who would have read your question could see that your search has less to do with race and more to do with %26quot;specialty%26quot; as there are differences between African Americans and Caucasian Americans as it pertains to skin care. For instance, none of my Caucasian friends have ever complained of razor bumps. Yet I along with the majority of my African American friends tend to suffer from this condition constantly.|||what she said^?|||You will not ever find a list of doctors that gives their race! I have no idea why you would require a doctor that%26#039;s black and black only, but if this is a must for you, then the only thing you can do is go to each one and look at them, or else call their office up and ask.
....And good luck with the responses you%26#039;ll get from THAT.
EDIT: Why don%26#039;t you try calling individual dermatologists up to see if any one of them have any experience in whatever your son%26#039;s condition is? All dermatologists are trained the same way, but you might be able to find someone with experience in your area via word of mouth.|||Race has nothing to do with how good of a dermatologist some one will be. But, I understand if you feel more comfortable with one... No one lists their race but, you could look at different websites for dermatologists and look at the pictures.
