thanks so much in advance|||Go see a OBGYN -- they can then refer you if needed.|||first c a doctor and he ll tell u who u should c.|||my partner has PCOS. (polycystic ovarian syndrome)
shes seen 4 GPs, I know more about it than they do!
We stopped going to the Gynaecologist ! From being told it would be unlikely to have kids since diagnosed at 14yrs the
assistant Gynaecologist told her there was a simple treatment she could have and then start a family; I said I thought it was wrong. Next visit she told the Gynaecologist what the assistant had said on the previous visit; the Gynaecologist told her in no uncertain terms that it was nonsense! Obviously tears all round!
Then we went to see Dermatologist about excessive hair growth. When I mentioned PCOS she jumped down my throat and said %26quot;what on earth are you talking about man; who says shes got that?!!!%26quot;.... I said %26quot; you obviously havent read her notes!%26quot; to which the Dermatologist lady said %26quot; How dare you insinuate I havent read the medical notes!%26quot; (she was supposedly training a junior who we had agreed could be present) I insisted that my partner %26quot;had PCOS and that it had been so since 14 yrs old !%26quot; still she argued! I then told her %26quot;you are a disgrace to your profession ! how can you expect to treat someone correctly when you cant be bothered to read someones notes! %26quot; I was asked to leave and wait outside! She then sat there for 15 minutes reading the notes and eventually said to my partner that %26quot;it appears you have got PCOS %26quot; no apology no nothing!
Since then we have been travelling 80 miles each way for laser treatment which they will only do on the face.
In a nutshell the NHS have not got a clue how to treat PCOS !
Worse than that; they dont seem to understand the upset the woman patient has to cope with, which is of course made much worse because of all the hormonal imbalance !
You have my sympathy, you really do. Im sorry to be so down about the situation but that is truly our experience. We keep finding bits on the Internet about %26quot;cures%26quot; being worked on in the USA but still at the experimental/trial stages yet. If you wish to leave contact details, will tell you which treatments found best if you like, but it may differ from person to person.
