Hey. I%26#039;ve just been to see a dermatologist about a skin problem I%26#039;ve had for the last 8 weeks. I%26#039;ve always been able to wear make-up, use products etc but, my sensitive skin reacted badly to a foundation I used that was one I%26#039;d never tried before and I%26#039;ve had a nightmare ever since with my face. It%26#039;s got to the point were I can%26#039;t use ANY product at all without it reacting and causing pain on my face. So, for the last few weeks I haven%26#039;t even been able to wash it as even water makes it hurt and dries it out. For most woman, not being able to cleanse, moisturise....and worse of all not wear make-up is incredibly upsetting, wrecks your self confidence and makes you miserable, unable to face the world. To some this may be shallow or rediculous, but to me it%26#039;s a real problem. Having tried steroids, antihistamines etc etc I was sent to a dermatologist who I saw today. A man who had no sympathy or understanding of the pain my face was causing me physically and emotionally. In a nut shell he said I will never be able to use product or make-up again, ever. My skin that was sensitive before, will now not tolerate anything being put on it. He didn%26#039;t offer any explanation or support. I came out in floods of tears. I%26#039;m so upset at this news and want to know if anyone has had a simelar experience and can offer any hope? I know this isn%26#039;t the worse problem I could have and I%26#039;m not dying! But I%26#039;m already very ill with M.E. and disabled because of it. I%26#039;ve always found comfort in the fact that at least I could look %26#039;normal%26#039; and make myself feel better when I wore make-up, when the rest of my body is so ill. Now, I%26#039;m really unhappy....any help? Serious answers please. Thanks. :)|||From the research I%26#039;ve done; most skin conditions problems start from food. Maybe the foundation triggered a flare up but usually food is the probloem. There%26#039;s a test called alcat test that no dermatologist refers their patients. They usually like to give patients drugs %26amp; creams. The alcat test is a food %26amp; substance test that tests which foods your body tolerates %26amp; which not. Many people say they have been helped greatly with their skin conditions by avoiding the foods that trigger them. It has also helped many on other diseases or sicknesses. This is a bit pricey but well worth looking into it.

Hope all works out.|||ok, I%26#039;ll try to help you. have you tries bio oil,it is for skin problems,it says you have to keep using it regularly, then when and if skin settles down, try ALMAY make up as it is for sensitive skin, hope it gets better,I know how I would feel if I were you.|||You should go get a second opinion somewhere else. Some specialists are real jerks, and this does not sound like the kind of man who you want to have helping you.
I%26#039;m sorry you%26#039;re going through a tough time right now. For what it%26#039;s worth, here%26#039;s an e-hug from a random stranger: *hug*|||I would see a second dermatologist..This man obviously is a jerk, especially since you were upset and he didn%26#039;t offer any explanation of your condition..
Best of luck to you. %26lt;3|||Why not try going to see a different dermatologist? I second opinion on the matter might be different =)
Good luck!!|||You poor sole, my heart goes out to you. I hope someone can really help you. All I can suggest is get another opinion. Best of luck.|||Looks are not everything. You seem to put all this pressure on yourself, as do most women, and it is unwarranted. People look fine the way they are.
The best advice I could give to you is this: stop being self-conscious, and don%26#039;t worry about what other people think. You have sensitive skin, and I wasn%26#039;t sure what M.E. was (chronic fatigue syndrome, says wiki?), but you can get past that. Like you said, there are much worse ailments.
Do what you feel is right, and be the best person you want to be, and don%26#039;t worry about what people say because they really don%26#039;t give a crap about you anyways. I know that sounds terrible, but seriously, they don%26#039;t.
Your skin reacted to the new foundation, and it made you susceptible to reactions more easily. Your doctor should have explained this as the likely cause of your reactions. Be persistent with doctors if you do not understand something.
