I have this strange dry spot on my upper lip that started on one side and kind of spread over my entire upper lip in a few days. It%26#039;s not itchy or anything so I don%26#039;t think its herpes or any sort of infection. Its just annoyingly dry and whenever I smile or talk it burns because the dry skin stretches and cracks. I%26#039;ve tried everything - lip balms, olive oil, tea tree or lavender oil for anti-bacterial effect, but it remains and seems to be growing. What is it? im getting really worried! Please help.|||Hard to say without seeing it. Even with that perhaps an MD should tell you - could it be ring worm?
Or chapped lips
or a cold sore?
Take a vitamin daily
drink more water
apply vitamin e to it
or if you think it is ring worm try lotrimin cream.|||It is a dry patch of skin, which gets irritated when you smile, etc., and then gets drier. Try this remedy:
Wet the area with warm water, then blot to remove excess moisture, but don%26#039;t rub or try to dry it -- just blot the area. Then immediately cover the area with petroleum jelly (Vaseline). This will look a little greasy, but in about 10 minutes it won%26#039;t look too bad.
I know people say water is drying and it is -- when it evaporates on your skin. But when you seal it in with the Vaseline, it is the best moisturizer there is. And, of course, the Vaseline also moisturizes. You should notice a difference almost immediately. Do this at least 5 or 6 times a day, especially right before bed.|||Just a dry spot. Dont worry bout it. :)
