Sretch marks and dermatologist?

a while ago in here someone told me to see a deramtologist about stretch marks so i rang and they said my doctor had to refer me so i went to see my doctor and she said she wont refer me untill they av tried everythin, she made me spend 7 quid on a prescription that is a cream for dry skin and told me to go back in a month, ive been using iut as told for a week and no difference, i simply want to see a dermatologist as i cannot afford to buy useless creams, is there anyway i can get my doctor to refer me. i have tried all sorts of things and creams, oil ect designed to fade stretch marks but there not fading and now since i started at the gym there at the back of my knees and summers comin up i dnt want to have to wear jeans all summer again so any help would be nice thanks|||The source below discusses stretch mark removal options.
